Default General Cam Question

What I am looking for is useage of a small duration intake with a long duraation exhaust.
A1/A2's are an example, just that I would like something not that big of a duration.

Default General Cam Question

110 -256
109 - 260
wood 9 - 260
A1 - 267
A2 - 278

To get the combination I am looking for, I would have to run an:
110 - 256 intake with a A1 - 267 intake for exhaust.

Anybody ever used an intake cam for an exhaust?
Does the cam have to be repinned for timing of sprocket?

Try it and let us know, LOL! They say "off the shelf" cams dont make power...maybe you can shed some light on that issue.

Default General Cam Question

I have not been posting because I have been locked out.
I changed my internet provider and have been locked out for 2 weeks.
I created this name just so that I could email the forum and ask them whats the issue.
That was 2 days ago and I am still waiting.

To give alittle more input into why I am looking for a specific cam timing is:

I am using the stock carb and to maximize its performance potential; I need a short duration intake with a longer duration exhaust. To get the most performance out of a single cylinder motor, with a cv carb, I am trying to reduce reversion with more overlap and a overrev silencer. This will enhance slide flutter control in mid and top end.

Your statement that over the shelf cams produce no power is always up for debate.
Most cams advertised for the DS are actually old cams that were developed for the BMW F650.
Without spending too much time, it is like putting a cam from a corvette into a truck.

Camshafts are only effective if they balance the total motor performance criteria.
