Default Questions on Installing Skid PLates

I took my 800 Outlander out for the first time today, had it up in the mountains in some rough terrian.

I already knocked one of the plastic A-Arm Protectors off.

How hard is it to install the Bombardier A-Arm Protector and the Full Body Skid Plate.

Will I have to drill any holes or do they fit on the existing screws that are there?

This ATV is a monster I can't tell you how much fun I had today riding it. Awesome machine!

If you don't already own the Bombardier brand skid plate, look at some others
the Bomb is way over priced.
I would look at an," ARMORDILLO" skid plate.
It's made from a high impact polycarbonate or plastic and they are
quiet and just glide over rocks and they will not dent like aluminum.
They are easy to install

check them out at.....www.atvtires.com or 1-888-722-8222

Default Questions on Installing Skid PLates

BigJon------I received my ricochet aluminum skid plates and cv protectors from the brown truck today. The driver came up the driveway carrying this big box like it was nothing. I decided not to make any wise remarks to him. Then when I picked it up, it was nothing, but moneywise, I think it was about $350, it's been awhile and I'm sleepy.

All I know for sure is that it's well made and the mfr says no drilling. I cannot put it on though, because it snows here and the brilliant designer, French or whoever, put the plow pusher mounts right in the middle of the machine, instead of off to the side under the foot rests like Kawi and others do.

You can find it in google under 'utahsportcycle' or close to that, I'm not that computer savvy. Graduated college with just a slide rule in my pocket.....not even a calculator.....didn't exist. However, later on, I saw a guy with an abacus beat a guy with a calculator 10 times in a row.

Default Questions on Installing Skid PLates

I appreciate the second post to my question, kinda looks like the dude is trying to sell something or point me to his website though..no problem..I am always looking for new products.

Has anyone purchased any of these plastic skid plates from this www.atvtires.com site?

Also where can I get really good knobby tires for this 800 Outlander? Cheap.

Saw some nice deal on stock items here http://www.parkeryamaha.com , has anyone ever purchased from them...like 25% lower than MSRP. Don't want to get scammed though.

Anyway looking forward to another day of riding today.

Jon

No bigjon I'm not trying to sell you something and no it is not my website. I responded
to your question to inform you that you can get skid plates for alot less money
and no you don't have to drill any holes.

Take a look at the , Utility ATV forum, there is a post regarding skid plates
posted on january 21 others are saying the same thing.

Just trying to help, don't ask questions if you don't want opinions

Don't get me wrong I appreciate your opinion.

I should have written my replay differently.

Thanks for your advice!

Didn't mean any offense.

Ricochet aluminum skid plates do require a hole to be drilled through the frame.
If you get the full length set, it requires two holes.....

Default Questions on Installing Skid PLates

Just ordered the Ricochet aluminum skid plates for my 800 Outlander MAX full set, afer the 1st day of riding I knocked off the cheaper plastic A-arm protectors.

Has anyone here used these or purchased them ?

'06 Bomb 800XT

Send me an email and I can send close up pictures. Pictures are about 2Mb in size and very clear.
The two holes hold the alum up to the frame and do not interfere with anything.
See pictures here under my name. Look close underneath and you will see the two bolts.
They are in the center. One holds the back of the front section and one holds the front of the rear section.
The middle section is bolted to the existing floor board frame.
Hope this helps. This is why I posted the pictures
