I was wondering if anyone else who owned an Outlander had problems with front driveshafts breaking while under warrenty and having the company tell you that your on your own. Just wondering? If your talking about the cv joint and not the shaft itself then sorry to say that yes I've seen this on a few Outlander 400s and yes you are on your own. BRP told us the outside cv joint will tear out if you are jaming the handlebars back in forth in 4wd while trying to get unstuck. What happens is the shaft and joint get pulled out of the housing. They also told us this is not warranty. I don't know if this is what happened to yours but this is what I've seen on a couple of machines.

Yeah for some reason they told him they weren't going to warrenty his. So he had to pay for all of it. He says he'll never buy another OUtty again.

We also got one or two covered under warranty and I'm glad you got yours covered also. It seems as though if they know whats causing this that they would have an updated part for those who experience problems. But they don't as far as I know and are pretty much telling everyone TS.

I rode my 04 400 Outlander hard for two seasons. She never missed a lick. I sucked her down *** deep in mud muck, and deep snow. I demanded holy 4x4 hell from her and she complied, time after time, never a complaint.

No front end problems whatsoever..
