i saw where you have listed theres nothing like the smell of klotz 118 octane. do you run that in your bike or do you like the smell of it , just playing man i am asking becouse they told me on unless your racing for hours at a time straight then that is needed but if your only making 3 to 20 second runs 114 to 110 is all that is needed. they said running the 118 would not benefit you at all. i jumped up from sonokos 110 to the 112. do you think that will make any difference

Remember how Hard1's motor ran on Sandbomber's 119 fuel for his NOS setup when Hard1 was set up for I believe Sunoco 110? I don't know the specifics but maybe there is a coralation.

If you open my pics you will see what I run it in, I ran it for years and still do in SLEDS. It's an 800 open mod high compression engine, It is a custom block from Crankshop. You can't even put a water pump in it, If you look at pic three you can see we use a portable water box with an RV pump mounted in it. Now this is a max modified engine, can't be taken any farther, We tune it with a scope, I look at the sidewall of the sleeve through the plug hole and adjusted my jetting by my bead line (bead line is a wet line @ the top of the cylinder) for 2 strokes its the fine line between running fine or detonating. about 1/16" is as small as I could let it get before BANG and an 1/8" was way to rich so It was a very fine line to tune indeed. The Klotz 118 we run is explicitly for 2 strokes.

Now running 114 Klotz my speed would vary along with my times 4 secs. @ 136 mph to 4.6secs@ 130 mph. (Give or take on both examples.) It was always differant. When I switched to 118 klotz my times would vary from 4 to 4.6 seconds but my MPH was almost always 136 mph. Never could figure out why but it was so consistent and my bead line was so consistent. (It was so much easier to tune) That I never went back to the 114. Both fuels where dead even on my reaction times .32 and 69.8 foot launch. I know the reaction time seem slow but remember sleds have to spool 2 clutch's before the react.

This machine is pushed to the line, positioned for chassis twist (left ski never touches), started seconds before the tree lit, run 1/8 mile, coasted 1000 foot to slow down, and the throttle was just blipped to get back to the pits, as soon as it got back we hooked up the cooling station. The only onboard cooling it has, if you look close you will see the lunch box cooler pack mounted on it and that was all the water it held.

Now as far as them saying it was for long races only, I don't know why they would, but there must be a big differance between the premixed 2 stroke fuel and the 4 stroke fuel.

I know this didn't answer your question and I'm just rambling now. lol. But at least you know why its in my sig. =]

If you read closely you will see where I listed my run lengths, 1/8 mile runs, 1000' coast to slow down, and blip the throttleback to the pits, AIR Temps ranged from 35° below zero to 50° above zero, hence the scope to tune the jetting It was tricky to get a 3 cyl, 3 carb, 3 headers, to run right. and yes it flies, the 800 open mod is run on ice only (frozen lakes) and the 617 mach1 w/NOS is my trail sled which I also grass dragged. =]

Oh and yes all my sleds are made by Bombardier which makes skidoo, sea doo, etc. Like I say I'm hardcore Rotax. =]

Thats why I was teasing Choose to make some runs on asphalt, I got my NHRA license and want to drag race more often. If you notice I live in the south and my sleds are on the farm in NY. Long ride to race. lol. Plus I'm in a position now with my computer company that I can sponser my own team. Time will tell.

So I have been thinking about raping my sleds and maybe putting the motors in a couple drag chassis. =]
