how many gallons is a factory DS tank exactly?

 

3.9 gallons total

 

found it on the bombardier web site. 3.2 gallons. seems small but thats what bombardier says it is.

 

ya there bone heads, the shop manual states fuel capacity @ 3.3 gallons with .6 gallons reserve=3.9 gallons total

 

just finished my aluminum ds tank for my busa bike and it holds 2.9 gallons which should be plenty as the the busa gets better fuel mileage than a stock ds does. the tank took me a day and a half to complete and was built from 25 hand shaped pieces of aluminum.

 

my tank holds 3.0 gallons and I can go as far as my son on his stock DS- the fuel economy is incredible- I'd like to see a pic of your fuel tank, are you running the busa fuel pmp?
