Bill,

Good post. I dont know if I can answer your question, but I would like to comment on the subject. You are correct about the Trophies that the 4 strokes are taking. The 2 stroke guys, for the first time, are actually now considering Nitrous as a valid power adder to compete. Its exciting for me for sure.

guys want power there it is, and with the way they come set up they seem safe enough, as my system goes low on bottle pressure the bike goes rich, which sucks in a race but, nothing but smiles for the saved engine parts. pushing these systems to the edge wouldn't be good unless you have lots of spare parts. lets get more juice so the 450's are unhappy.

Bill.A Nitrous system is going to be my next purchase for my Baja.I want it just as a fun addition to my quad but it should make my very stock looking Baja win a few races here and there.I have never looked into what it costs to fill a Bottle but it cant be too bad??My Raptor should really come alive with a Nitrous system as well but one thing at a time.Mark.When the time comes for me to buy i am sure i will have some questions for you.

No problem - The market price for Nitrous is $5 per pound. A 2.5lb bottle can last all weekend if you use it just occasionally. A 2.5 lb bottle should give you about 160 seconds total of button time at a 20-25 hp shot. For ATV's, the 2.5lb is a really good size bottle. When you go up to 3lb, you are really starting to limit yourself on where you can place the bottle. The 20oz bottles are simply too small for several reasons. 1) they dont hold very much N20, and 2) they dont keep N20 from transitioning very well - the fact that the smaller bottles are painted black compounds this problem. When nitrous transitions, it becomes a vapor rather than its normal liquid. If you have a larger bottle (like the 2.5 pounder) in natural aluminum, your nitrous should keep from transitioning at temperatures well above 100 degrees F.

A lot of Nitrous companies simply dont understand this problem because they simply arent focused on the dune and quad industry, and the heat of desert dune riding.
