01 ds650 chain noise
I recently purchased an 2001 ds650. The motor and everything else is running very smoothly. However, the chain is loud and sort of anoying. It sounds like it is banging in the chain feed by the upper sprocket. I recently had the wheeler tuned and the mechanic said the chain was at the correct length. There aren't any other Bombers where I am from, so I cannot compare and hear another ds650's chain. Can anyone tell me about 2001 ds 650 and appropriate chain noise? It does not make the noise in higher rpm's. Is the noise common?

If you do not have your rear ride hight set up correctly you will always be rubbing on the upper chain roller. Althouigh it may feel better to have the rear too low is not correct. With the rear all the way extended you should have 4"-5" of sag. The lower rear feels better because the stock camber... or caster (I always mix those up) is not right. Look into the ASR upper a-arms to fix that problem if it is still bugging you.
