It may not be the best for everything you want but you will not find an ATV that can do so many things so well. Just about everything you mentioned it does extremely well at. Real deep mud can give it some problems but then it is a sport ATV and not a utility. Trails are not problem just have to learn to allow for the additional size and power of the beast. Drag races, few can touch the DS in stock form. The ice crossing I know nothing of. If you want power, a great comfortable ride, and did I say power, then the DS might be for you.

I have a 2000 DS and have had nothin but fun with it, it most definately has the suspension to race XC. With those mods on it you will have more than enough power, ice cross might be a problem just because of it's size. But other than that it should do everything you want.

You can whip it around anywhere you want. I can do just as much on my wifes Predator as I can on my DS only I am faster than her. Just make sure that the tight trails you are talking about are at least wider than the DS and you are good. My wifes Predator is almost as wide as mine so we can go the same places. Jumping is great easy landing and can get right up there with the rest of them. This is really an all around great bike. It can handle anything you put to it. Just so you know I got mine with no mods and a bumb rear shock for $2825. but with all the mods I have put in alot more money along with the cost of a new rear shock. So 3100 is a great deal I say Go for it.
