CC.. I have to agree with you.
Reason for the 800 cc motor in the quad... Thats the limit on ATVs now that they have hit that limit its time to make more power within the guidlines.
Its difficult to make that much more power without an increase in flow and fuel. even if the stock map is A/F of 14.7 and you reprogram to 12.4 or sompin thats still wouldnt seem to push a 20%+ gain in power.

With a HMF pipe and Dobeck TFI setting the air fuel about right where you said, around 13.3 that gains right at 5hp at the rear wheels, that would be = to about 8 hp at the crank. I just don't see any way to tripple that with programing.

CC, Do you need the controler and o2 sensor for the pipe? How loud is the pipe compared to stock?

You do need a TFI to run a pipe. The EFI systems on quads are very very basic they are not capable of compensating for mods, or altitude as I one might think they do. Thats why there are so many TfI's on the market these days.

Now i know they cant start with a base of 62 and jump to 225 so pwc must have a lot higher base hp.The reliable factor on the drive components has to be why they dont put more hp in the max 800, because it can be done.

Where did you see a PWC with the same motor with 225hp?

Hello. Its a new 3 rider pwc being advertised on tv. I would like to be able to get 100hp. Correction to that. I saw it on boattesttv. you can probably go to thier website to get the info.

Well from the specs I see, there are not the same motor. Looks like all the PWC are 1500cc triples, not 800 twins.
