I stay out of the mud.

At any speed the ACT's do not shimmy or shake. Hold good to all surfaces. Got 800 miles on these 26" XT package tires, no noticeable wear.

I love my ACTs. They work very well in ALL types of terrain. I ride mostly hard pack and rocks, but have gone through a river ( a creek for you guys not living in the desert ) with no problems in the soft mud/sand. The ACTs are stable on the pavement too.

But, if you are ONLY riding in the mud, get a mud tire. If you ride some mud but also ride other trails, stay with the ACTs.

In fact, why not try the ACTs for 1000 miles first and see. Might save you some money.

I agree try these tires for awhile you will be surprised how well they do in the mud. I was going to replace mine right away but after 2,300km of going anywhere my friends do with there mudbugs, I think I will just save myself some money. BTW with this many miles they actually show very little wear, I would think with the type of driving I do they should last about 5-6000 km (4000miles)
