'03 Outy 400 fuel problems
#1
It's been a while since I posted, haven't had any issues with the Outy, until now. I went to start it the other day and it sputtered like it was out of gas, so I got some and put it in. No dice, turns over fast and has spark, but no will fire. I took the plastice off to inspect the problem and I found all the fuel lines dry rotted/cracked. I pulled the line off of the carb and it was cracked on the inside, also. So I call the dealer and ask him about it because I have a 3 year warranty. I describe the problem and he tells me that I didn't "lubricate" the fuel lines and that is why they cracked, and by the way, fuel system is not covered under warranty. I said I have a Prairie 650 that is 2 years older and I never "lubricated" the fuel lines and they are in perfect condition. He didn't have an answer. Anyway, I asked him if the Outy had a fuel pump and he said if it is not an Outlander Max then it does not have one. Does anyone know any better, I have not bought a manual yet. Has anyone else had this problem? Sorry for the long post!

Back when I had my 04 Outlander 400, I had the same problem with rotted fuel lines into the second year I had it. I just went to the hardware store and bought replacement lines and that took care of it. It puzzled me also. Only thing I can figure they must have had a bad lot of hose or really old and hadn't tracked it's shelf life..
