stock gearing is 16-----40, i changed the front to a 15 for more lowend power in the woods . stock runs to fast in close woods running. i also have a 14tooth but its too low

Stock is 16 front and 40 rear. I went to a 17 front and 35 rear and now I am doing 85 mph in the 1/4 and not hitting the limiter nearly as much in the lower gears. Still pulls wheelies like nothing!

i lke it a lot better on trails. the gear lets me hillclimb in 2nd gear with ease. it still beats astock raptor with this gear at topend

how many Raptors have you beat? How good were the riders? I saw a 400ex beat a ds and a Raptor beat the same 400ex really bad, but I think the DS rider was a putts that was not familiar with his DS

Hey Quick DS, Did you have to modify the chain at all ie, shorten it? to make the new sprocket set work or was there enough play in the adjustments to compensate?
thanks

there was room for adjustment on either sprocket, i might run out of adjustment sooner though, but so far so good

Major I had to take one link out of the chain to make it tighten up correctly. You can get the masterlink at the local bike shop for like 3-4 bucks.
