Cracked headlight mount..
#1
I boke one of my headlight mounts in a rollover. Does anyone make just the MOUNTS for the ds? I think the Ds650 is a very durrable machine, but those mounts are just pathetic. they are thin, fragile plastic. Obviously they are going to crack or break in a rollover. Anyways, does anyone make just the mounts or do i have to buy a whole new damn light? How much does that $ for just the mounts, or for a whole new light?

Tough break..At least you are not hurt, but the only machines that don't get damaged are the ones that don't get ridden.
Don't think you can buy just the mounts. If you need to buy the whole headlight I think its about $88.00 for lense ,bulbs, decal etc.You might be able to buy lense only if bulbs are OK.
I want some aftermarket co. to make/sell a good headlight guard for the Ds.
You may be able to fix it with some kind of strong epoxy in the meantime, questionable though.

I broke a headlight in a rollover too, I tried fixing it and it would just rattle and blow bulbs. As I recall, the headlight is not that expensive all things considered.....and it comes with a new bulb inside......buy a new one, and get it over with.....easier and less hassle.

Your not the only one who broke their headlight mounts. I epoxied mine back together and it lasted awhile until I was climbing a steep hill and caught traction on a exposed tree root and flipped over backwards. It obviously broke again . So I bent me a peice of aluminiun so it would mount on the existing mount holes and I bought a set of those bright little round headlights that you can by at any auto parts store and mounted them . They are tucked in under the plastic and they look like a couple of eyes looking at you. Pretty sweet! They are bright as hell too!!! Only drawback is that there is no high or low beam. Just bright!!!!!

Why not use one fog and one driving light. Then wire them up so the fog is your low beam and the driving is your high beam.
