Back To The Basics................

2Big,
I think you may be on to something there. This morning when I woke up, I was thinking about the campfire Friday night at DS Days. You know we all get on this forum, and we make judgements of other peoples personality only by the posts they generate. After a while, we think thats all a person is. You get that person in a real world situation such as campfire, friendly competition, or just helping a friend do a little wrenching, and everything changes. I think we need to be carefull about who we think someone is based on only what they type. I think the type can be deceiving because it doesnt always give us a full picture of who at person is. There is no face, no tone of voice, and not much personality.
Many of you know that I have known Nate (SLC650) for a while now. We met at DS Days last year in Nevada. Nate is related to the owner of BOSS industries. When I got laid off from BOSS, I wondered how I was going to deal with that, especially since my situation was extremely unfair in regards to how BOSS treated me upon my release. I wondered how I could continute to be friends with someone that had a family connection to someone I worked for and disliked so much on a personal level. In the end, it was nothing that a DS Days campfire, some wrenching, and sharing a meal couldnt fix.
Its something to think about for sure. Perhaps we too often judge someone by thier alias, title or position, and we forget to judge them for the man they are. When all thats required is to get them in a set of circumstances so that we can see them, for the man they are. Its possible, the people we hate the most, are the ones we've never met.
