These motors will be hard to beat when combined with the right chassis.

if anyone can dethrone the ds it is the yamaha. the way they have come on the scene so fast is amazing. this is a marathon not a sprint so we will see how fast they get pooped out.

Eric posted on a different site that he got access to a 700R motor. He looked inside and says he see's potential. Much better base than a 660. Clutch basket is still in question but hopefully not too big of a deal....

I heard about a perimeter aluminum framed DS with a 720cc engine that was built for testing. Don't know if BRP will go that route, but they are looking at making changes.

Also heard about putting the 800cc engine idn a DS frame, but it would be a CVT and most DS fans like having gears, so I doubt that will happen.

I think BRP is going the right direction with the 800cc CVT package with the Renegade. They will probably release a 2X4 version of a Renegade eventually, which would be about 65#s lighter than the 4X4 version.
Ill take a ds with 800 twin automatic any day. If you haven't rode a Vforce with cams and nitro you don't no what you missing.

The 700 has lots of room to go LOTS more on the stroke of the crank. The 660 is limited. The biggest I know on a 660 bottom and re-sleeved stock cylinder is a 794. The 4valve head and its design should be easier to extract power from than the 5valve design.
