I bought a 2002 DS650 Baja for $2700. I wouldnt pay much over 3K unless you want a much newer one. They havent changed much since 2000. Unless you are a big guy or want it for wide open desert riding you might want something else.

They are pretty big and klunky in tight trails and dont fit in with the ruts mades by other sport quads. You need to do mods to make them faster and stock is mediocre. THe rev limiter kicks in right when you expect a kick in the butt.

I have a hard time getting wheelies going. THis is a problem for me on trails when I am comming up on water or a log and I want lift off. Forget about getting big air. Too heavy and klunky.

Ride it before you buy it and compare.

I'm 5'10" @205lbs. All I do is ride trails and I ride them pretty much with my hair on fire. I hardly ever shift below 3rd gear, I also smoke pretty much any quads and quite a few bikes on the trail.
Wheelies are too easy to do on a DS. We also have a guy on the Bomb forum getting huge air jumping from ramp to ramp. 60'+. I jump flat tops and doubles all the time when I'm on an MX track. The 2 trails I ride the most are (Joanna Enoree) 20+ miles long, and (Wambaw) 40+ miles long.

Maybe you got a quad a little out of your league Bikermike?

I have ported and polished my own intake and exhaust, and tuned the jetting a couple months ago.
It was bone stock for what I have mentioned above.

Dude I'm 45 and don't consider my kind of riding Xgamer riding. I just ride it like I stole it.

No videos I have nothing to prove.
