Default Manually starting the outlander

Has anyone figured out how to start the machine if the electronic starter fails?

Probably the same thing you'd do if your car had the same problem and was an automatic.

When I got my DS650 the service rep cautioned me to keep a fully charged battery cause you gotta get a pretty good push/pull to get it started in gear.

The reason they don't come with a pull start back up is because you couldn't pull start an 800 anyway. A small set of jumper cables is a good idea. Some guys go as far as to haul an extra battery with them on a long trip. Check your battery cable terminals once and a while to make sure they stay tight. And yes, try to keep your battery charged up. I was told that after about 4 weeks without starting it, I might find the battery to be low or dead. And I'm not sure, but I think the battery deal is on the XT's. Something about a diode in the winch pulling juice? But I'm not sure about that. And there are some computer gismo's running inside there somewhere also.

Im not sure which specific one youre talking about...but if it has a carb,( and its posible the EFI will too) then if youre riding with another wheeler , its posible to bump start it. Hook up a tow strap, put it in high, key on, and have someone pull it.
