You can't just get 520 chain, you also need 520 sprockets front and back. 520 chain is basically a little narrower so it won't fit on your 530 sprockets.

Several vendors sell 520 conversion kits.

Im running a 730 big bore, full race head, Lectron 48, Vortex ignition, Nitrous, ct pipe, +4 swingarm JJ&A axle Yamaha blue labels with 22' Medium buff haulers. Comes out of the hole pretty hard on 17 40, No problems with second gear starts.

How doi know what chain i have on there now? when i bought it the guy gave me an extra set of sprockets. On there now is a 16/38 the spare set is a 18/40 i dont know what he was thinking but could he have changed the chain already? How do i find out. I'm looking more for acceleration than anything else. i'll do the conversion chain and sprocket if it will really help get that extra pull i lack.

Run out and measure the width of your chain. I check mine right now.

1" wide is a 530, 3/4" is a 520. Generally what type of riding do you do? Dirt, sand, mud? It makes a difference in what kind of chain you purchase.

most of my riding is like sand/dirt trails i measured the chain its an inch so its 530. Do i have to get a conversion kit or just the 520 chain and matching 520 sprockets af so also what length do i need. Would 14/40 be overboard for sprocket setup?

How much do you weigh? how long is your swing arm? stock? Your going to need a 520 front which you can get from Ron Woods. The rear 520 you can get from sprocket specialist. Chain you can get from Rocky Mountain. Basically just put together you own conversion kit, it alot less money. Im running a sidewinder setup and it was a ton of money. Save yourself a few bucks.

If your going to ride in any wet conditions go with an o-ring or x-ring chain. If you only running in the sand I recommend an non-o-ring chain (less friction = more power to the ground) There a bit more maint but worth it.
