Does anyone make one ? If you have to pay 2500 for porting and cam, might just as well pay 3500 and have lots more power.

Desert Dog Offroad in Fountain Hills, Az. has put a Turbo on a an 800 Outty. They had it at the Sand Sport Super Show in Ca. The owner will have it at the dunes this year. Desert Dog said the Rotax motor and CVT drive system is strongly built and can take the added horsepower.

If you have questions, call them at: (480) 837-0078. They are closed on Sundays & Mondays.

Yamaha 4strokes are startin to become famous with turbo on their sleds. Yammy came out with the Mountain Lite Phazer that only weigh's 360lbs this yr. Gonna put out approx 150HP with the turbo!

Now think about what the outtie can do

I called them a little while ago and one of there guys called back asking where I herd that rummor, and told me that they were not working on a Outy turbo. But at over 4k and no labor or freight added in yet, It would have to make it into one heck of a power monster to make it worth that kind of coin even if they did decide to make one.

I just tried deset dog and the techs don't work on Mondays, so I will try them again tuesday.

The mcxpress yamaha apex turbo made an insane sled. If you are going to pay 2500 for parts only to get less than 20 engine hp. , Might as well go with the turbo, should be able to double your power like my sled. That phaser mountain is over 500 lbs. dry. only has 80 hp stock, apex 4 cyl. is 150 stock.

My dealer (Performance East Goldsboro ,NC) told me that putting the 400 outlander cam in the 800 outlander will wake it up conciderably. Not sure how true is is though.

I know several calls of inquiry were made to Desert Dog Offroad after this topic was posted. I don't know what was said or if any orders/costs were discussed.

I spoke with the fabricator/shop Foreman when I asked about the first service on my 800 Outlander Max XT....

I'm not interested in a turbo for my Outlander as it is for mountain trail rides....I already have a EFI Turbo DS650 for fast dune riding....and I have Elkas Elites on order to add to the DS, so I can go faster....
