Since my incident at the race track, bustin my oil drain plug out and runnin a lap while pissing oil all over until she finally stalled out, the DS hasnt run up to par, then finally after performing poorly and hearing some engine noise i took 'er in to the shop. My mech just called me and its not good, he gave me a list of everything i need and with that and labor costs im lookin at $2000 to get it all done. He gave me the price list of the stuff i need, costs straight from Bombardier, and im gonna try to see if i can find some things cheaper, if anyone has or knows where i can get a few things please let me know, here's my majors that im on the search for-
Piston - ring, clip, and pin
Crank
Rod
oil pump - both - suction and pressure
the other stuff is minor like the bearings, gasket kit, rings, etc. so those r no biggie, but labor cost is half the killer, $70 an hour they charge anymore, rediculous!!

There is a motor on ebay as well right now but if you can get a fresh stage 2 for $1500, that is a deal. I also believe bombdsbaja (Tom) has a good motor that he wanted about $1k for. I almost bought it but I ended up getting one on ebay for $500.

How much do you owe your mechanic for what he has done so far if you decide not to repair it? That is something to consider........

he's only got a few hours into it, i told him to wait to hear from me before he does anything else, at this point a new motor or new quad alltogether doesnt sound like a bad deal, im debating on buying a new DS and swapping all my accessories over then parting out my old one
