hey guys its been a while since i have been on here cause it seems to be busy around here, but anyway i did finally purchase an 07 800 can-am outlander and some friends and i went riding about 3 weeks ago and one guy had a 660 grizzly slightly modded and we raced and i beat him easy, no competion at all,but now a friend of mine has told me that now he has put a 686 motor in the grizz with 11:1 piston and head work and air upgrades, so now he wants to race me again because he thinks he might be able to beat me.The only thing i have done different with mine is i put 0-40 synthetic oil and the fitch fuel additive to the gas, so when we race again which might be this weekend what do you guys think will be outcome will i win or lose? can't wait to here from sombody that might have already gone through this thanks!

The 686 is the same engine as in the new Grizz or Raptor 700.....still doesn't seem to me to be enough to keep up with a v-twin 800 but really, does it matter? Did this guy go and beef up his quad cause he was butt hurt you beat him in a drag race? Why didnt' he just go get a Raptor 700?
well i dont know for sure but he probly is a yamaha fan and likes utility quads better than sport quads and he wants to keep up with or beat the 800 showing the 660 badge.

Well the Grizz doesn't have much of a weight advantage and I think he's gonna have to go bigger then 686cc's to beat a v-twin 800. JMO FWIW

You'll probably still kick his butt. That 800 is fast.

there is noooo way he is going to beat you, a 500 outlander outruns a stock 660 griz. you should have no problems at all

See man, this stuff is unecessary. My buddy has two Yamaha's and never has had any problem, I have a Yamaha dirtbike and don't have any problems with it. There is nothing wrong with Yamaha and I'd never hesitate to purchase another one, I've owned four different Yamaha toys, a sled, dirtbike and two different quads.

It's the same engine size, but not the same engine. For starters it's not injected. Plus he's got a higher comp. piston and air intake mods. Still for all he's not going to be pushing 62hp at the crank like the outty 800.

First, yes, Yamaha makes excellent products. So the wrenching thing on the Yamaha is just silly.
Second, I have raced a new Grizz 700 and although it has alot of great features, speed is not one of them!!
