Default DS 650 crank?

Ok so I got a 99 ds 650 and the crank bearing is bad. Called up a shop they said its a dealer item should be able to get a rod kit. So they called and called me back and said I had to buy a whole crank its only way you can buy it and it cost right at a grand! Is this right? Wheres the best place to get what I need?

Falicon Crankshafts may be able to help you.

TVI also - Call Gary at DS Works / TVI

I'ld think HP Research would sell you the same thing Falicon would but, they may have a spare stocker they'ld sell you. The Bom Racing may have something they would trade you out also.

Shoot me a PM if you run into trouble. I've got a spare I may be willing to trade for a few extra pennies.

Im also still on the search for one. ebay is a good place to watch, one just went last night for $130. Your Bomb dealer can get you a refurbished one from Bombardier for $380, think thats with the core deal. A brand new one outa the box from Bomb is $800. If you can find someone parting out an engine you can get them for $150 or so, GOOD LUCK!

Dang Nick. . . those are good prices.

If you can pick one up for less than $500 that's a deal from what I've seen in the past.

Would suck to have to pay the full boat $800 for one but, I'm sure there are a few that have had to.

If you see one on e-bay for less than $150 let me know. That's a great price. I'ld pay that for a spare for sure.

There never seems to be one on ebay when I look for one . The nearest Bomb place is an hour away from where, anywhere online to order 1? If its $800 for a new one and couldnt find one anywhere else couldnt I get a stroker or something for just a few more?

Don't take this wrong but, you need to do some work too.
Falicon Crankshafts

Looks like Falicon and HPR have joined forces. . . Give HPR a call for their options.

Call Gary at TVI / DS Works - He'll have options for you too.

Call The Bom Racing - He'll be able to put together a stroker option for you as well.

You WILL find ideas on the forums but, you have to make some calls yourself.
