The tailight is not supposed to be on without the lights on. As far as the tach goes make sure all the wiring is good and that there is power getting to the tach. The oil temp lights i go through allot of....just buy urself a new one they are only like 5 bucks. There are your two fuses under the seat by the airbox lid.

O.K. I THOUGHT IS STAYED ON WITH KEY WITH ANOTHER O4 I HAD. I MUST BE WRONG. IT MAKES SENSE IT WOULD ONLY BE ON WITH LIGHTS OR BRAKE. THANKS FOR ADVICE. AS FOR THE OIL TEMP LIGHT , I GROUNDED OUT THE WIRE GOING TO OIL TEMP SENSOR AND LIGHT FINALLY COME ON. IT NEVER WORKS THOUGH WHEN HOOKED UP TO SENSOR. DOES THIS MEAN THE SENSOR IS BAD? THANKS

Well, it could be your oil pressure sensor yes. Take it out of the motor and blow it out with compressed air then let it sit and dry out for a night or so....it got mine working again. They are a weak setup though so you may need a new one.
