Fat? Maybe. Retarded? More like head of the class. Wasn't it a DS650 that won the 2006 Lesotho Sun Roof of Africa? We actually had several DS's funish well in the gruelling race that included a 62 mile time trial on Friday followed by the actual race Saturday that was two 62 mile races and one 81 mile race, all on the same day.
Only 21 out of 52 quads even finished this beast of a course over some of the roughest, most treacherous terrain known to mankind. I saw a few of the TRX450's listed but no mention of your recommended Raptors or Predators.

Wait a minute. Why am I wasting my valuable time responding to someone who should follow the advice of his own handle??? Must be "fat and retarded"!

The biggest concern in running out / low of oil is the crank (main) bearing. Did you see any brass shavings in your filter on in your oil at all?

Sounds to me like the hose probably came-off right there where you stopped.

Put oil in it and run it. If you want, you can change the oil again (or at least pull the filter) and check for any brass shavings.

I would guess (and hope) you are fine.

Thanks for all the good advise guys I'm going to get a few extra filters and do a couple back to back oil changes on it ..
i didn't see any brass of any kind.. all of my experience is in the automotive world,, so i had babit insert bearings on my mind.. Seeing all that type of material which is probably tranny/clutch gunk had me worried but i think i dodged a bullet on this one..
good thing they are built tough
thanks again

If you still had oil in the tank, the hose hadn't been off for very long. Every motor will have a little different crankcase pressure. It is greatly determined by blow-by (compression getting past the rings).

I think your bottom end is just fine. You already put a good clamp on it. It wouldn't hurt to do a leak down test at some point to see how much blow-by you actually have but if the motor feels strong and the new clamp holds and there isn't an EXCESSIVE amount of oil coming out of the crank case breather tube (there will always be a little that seeps out there)..............you should be good to go.

I wouldn't rebuild a bottom end until it fails. A topend is a different story.........imho.

I think you are ok.
