Default HPR 730 vs. Quadzilla?

I'm getting the itch for another quad and am considering a Quadzilla, I was wondering how a full Trinity stacked LT500 would compare to my 730 with listed mods in my signature. Of course I'll be keeping the DS, just thinking of the Suzuki for a guest quad and would like to hear some input from those who have either had some seat time on one or have ran against one. I'm guessing the Trinity 500 lays down about 60 or so hp? So what do y'all think?

No way .. IMO If your DS is set up right and not too heavy you would have no prob outrunning the LT500.

There is a video floating around somewhere of one of my old 730s and 100 lbs heavier than my bike is now and I mopped the LT 500 BUILT and it had a long swingarm and drag axle w/tripple buffs. Now this is up a hill where the torq of the DS shines.

I think it would take a chassis lt 500 to beat the hpr 730 in a lighter set up since we are making over 10 more hp then the old 730.

Flat drags are differnt in sure, If you put your Ds motor in a light chassis I dont think any LT could get you even in 300ft... JMO

"Guest Bike" hehehe - I thought it was "Wife's Bike". . . lol

If you seriously want this for a guest bike, this isn't the bike. A Honda 400EX or a Z400 would be my personal choices. Those Zilla's like to blow up. . . buds Dad had one. . . who's gonna pay for that. You put yourself and your guest in a difficult position with that bike. A guest bike with too much power isn't a good idea either.

Hmmm, good to know, thanks for the input! I'm not really looking at racing the two or anything, just wondering if the two builds would be a pretty equal match for fire road riding and such. I know, it's kind of a waste to have a 70+ hp quad just for blasting around back roads but it sure is a rush, sometimes I feel like I'm rally racing. I've got mine geared 15/35 with 22"s as well so she's got her some long legs for sure, well into triple digit speeds.

Duneme, I hear ya, might be a bit of a liability. I would only let the highly skilled buddies on her! The girlies would be on my King Quad.

" sometimes I feel like I'm rally racing " LMAO!! Now thats the sprit! Maybe you should dropp her down and try some TT racing. Thats looks like alot of fun and a great workout. More g- force through the corners due to more hook up. I know a guy back from NY area that did the logging road racing. He built and set his bike up all year just to run them roads at a high rate of speed. Just ride safe!

Sounds like you havin a blast though!

I've had and still have a Zilla tried from 3 different builders. 650cc DS's against zillas are a good race. My 703 is a draw and any thing bigger just out runs it. My zilla is a 540 on alky 64hp to the wheels. It has lots of power but is not fast!!!

This is flat dragging.

My LT 500 is hands up lighter quicker (with the right builder) and cheaper to get around 70 HP on gas VS getting that kind of HP from a DS, Dr Q out here builds some amazing 80 hp plus gas Zillas out here, I ride both, the weight of the DS just cuts into the HP, my zilla weighs only about 300 lbs, just riding in the dunes I can toss the LT around and use that HP, while the DS at 480 lbs runs the rider!
Just to compair a 730 kit if you can get one is close to $2000, plus cams springs head mods, pipe, carb the for about $2000 in a LT DR Q pipe, Cylinder Porting, Head Mods, Carb Mods, Rebult case if needed, and have cash left over to modify shocks when done to put the power to the ground ( Done Both Bikes the LT was way cheaper)
My fifty cents worth.

Rod smith had a real nice zilla too it hauled the mail. And 3 years ago when Zach mitchell won us the copper state classic it was on a zilla built by trinnity and us. it was 51" wide the zilla was a good bike for the game it was built to play.
