So i get my DS back and i take her for a little spin, not even 3-5 minutes and i notice the fan already kicked in. Then i rode for another 5 mins and the red light came on. I am hoping the radiator needs to be flushed, but if that doesnt fix it, what else could it be? It seems like the coolant is not circulating.

yep, where the top hose goes into the head. Remove the cover and pull it out and drop it in some boiling water and see if it opens. If it doesnt replace it.

Same subject , different problem. My fan won't kick on. I put an in line temp. guage on the top hose to the radiator and let the motor run till the temp reached 215 and no fan so at that point I hooked up the direct hot wire from the fan motor I had in place and the temp. on the in line guage begins to drop and levels out at 160. So I figure the water is circulating therefor the themostat is open. Does this mean the sending unit is the next suspect? I would be grateful for any help.

IF your fan does not kick in its the sensor on the right side sitting on the quad. It is right by the plug wires and has two wires comming out the end of it. Mine went and i got a new one and it fixed the problem...mine is now gone again. Seems we have bad sensors everywhere on our quads...the oil pressure sensor and the fan temp sensor.

well today i found out why it was overheating so fast/bad. i checked the water pump first, it was working, then i flushed and cleaned the radiator, and it still was overheating so then i checked the thermostat and here it was in backwords lol, so i put it in boiling water and she opened up.
needless to say but now shes running like a champ :-) thanks for the help

On those little wires that go to the thermostat, if you unplug them, is there a forward and backward to those???
