I think BRP did the right thing went they built a quad that meets the requirements for racing. Although there are folks that use reverse, I just have to say, Im am really glad that they didnt put it on. How many years have we been hounded by mags, and other riders saying that Bombs are all "too heavy". Well, not this time. If all they have to complain about is reverse, and possibly some ugly headlights (ha!) then so be it. Reverse is the wrong direction. I havent had an ATV with it yet. I like the minimalist approach - You wont see electric windows on NASCAR, nor should you see reverse on a true race quad.
I think its about priorities. So far I like what I see. The last thing I want BRP to produce is a Comprimise quad. There will always be people that will pick on one thing and and say thats wrong. But, you have to hand it to BRP on this one - I mean, IMG! - Look at that frame!
No reverse??? HA! Thats funny man! What? You got cupholders on yours too???

One thing you need to realize is not everyone races motocross. I say motocross because I think reverse does have a place in GNCC.
Oh yea, reverse is the wrong direction, that's the point.

I like thier thought process on building the frame. Pyramidal and NO WELDS. Can-Am defintely is thinking outside the box. Can't wait till next week's episode. I do fear this is going to be an expensive quad... your going to be paying for new technology. I think I've found what I am getting next year.

I think the new trend in race quads will definately be fuel injection AND "reverse".
I would hate to think that Can-Am went to all the trouble of designing the most modern quad and did not include reverse.
Out of all the "race" quads sold, how many actually get raced?
My guess would be less than 3%.
Most are used for aggressive trail riding and running the dunes. While you don't need reverse in the dunes, it's oh so nice on the trails.

There are guys that will indeed want reverse. If the DS650 gets redone, that will probably be something for BRP to consider. I do know the dirt guys as well as the euro street quad guys will want it. For soft sand, reverse is problematic at best.
As far as Dirt Wheels, most people know they are sometimes way, WAY off in their write ups. So, if they complain (when dont they complain) it really wouldnt surprise me. However, one thing that DW is always concerned with is weight on quads. So, you may be surprised on this.
