Default Air Filter--not a comparison question, down't worry!

Ok, just got my outterwear today. I was thinking that I read or was told that I should oil the outterwear as well as the K&N filter. Is this correct. The outterwear didn't have anything on it that said it should be oiled, and i have looked back through the thread history, but didn't find anything that answered this. Please let me know someone. Thanks!

Mine usually gets oily from the oil on the filter, but I don't spray oil on it directly. I wouldn't worry about it if you did though.

Just as a side note, the "pre-oiled" is almost never enough. Every K&N I have used required an additional layer before first install. Just my .02. Outerware stays dry until you put on the filter
