MRDS650, For the last few years we have been regulars at Sand Hills, back when "mean Gene" ran the place and the other owners that ran it last year. Always a nice place to stay, green grass, lots of shade trees and even play grounds for the kids-----swings, merry-go-round and teeter-totter. A couple of friends went to St.A'S over Easter and said it has gone to *****. They are once again under new management and the place just looks run down. The grass is not very green, there is sand all over the place on the grass, they took out the kids stuff and it is just not as it used to be, and the prices keep getting higher and higher. We used to be there twice a month throughout the summer, but not any more. Don't want to scare you away, but it's just not as nice and as it used to be.

Lol you fuggers! I do know that saturday morning at Choke is going to be big this year. Lots of folks showing up to race! So I think I am going to haul out the rhino with chairs, drinks, food and what not to watch the show. Also saturday night at Thunder is always big, and I will be there to watch aswell. You could always just drop in on your way through. I'll look for ya.

Jed,,,,what time do you think you'll head to Choke on Saturday morning? It seems like the last few years I've got there at the tail end of things......Maybe it has something to do with the campfire and beeeers on Friday night??????? I guess I should think about staying at Choke all night Friday and then I would not miss stuff Saturday morning!!!!! lol
Let me know what time you think is good......

I would bet we will be heading that way between 8-9. Most the time people head out around 9.

FYI, Choke is as steep as it has been in alot of years. The top is back to almost as steep as it use to be. It is the same till about 2/3 hill, then gets steep. Bikes that tear out of it in 3rd usually, were having a hard time making it in 3rd. I am sure will all the people there, it will get pushed down again, but it will be fun if it stays that steep.

Also, the dunes were blown pretty weird. Lots of witches eyes and things. So everyone watch out and be careful.
