so i was riding my 01 ds650 and all of a sudden it quit running...assumed it stalled and went to re-fire and it didnt even crank......as if i was pushing the start button with the key off....now the battery is fully charged...its brand new....i cleaned all the terminal ends and grounds.....i have power from the battery to the solenoid and when i push the start button my test light lights up but theres no power to the starter....i took the solenoid off and tested it...put 12volts to it and it clicked but i still think its no good....is there a way to bypass the solenoid to be sure or do you think it could be something else??? any help is much appreciated

 

Direct connect the two red wires that go to the solonoid. If it tries to crank, it is bad. If not something else...

 

one more question, theres a small red wire thats in the solenoid/battery area...its not the positive cable but it does and a round end on it...where does that go, i forgot and dont want to hook it up and fry something, to the solenoid or battery?
