I have a DS650 and run it for hours with no problems with high rev. The only thing that makes sound when it gets hot is the air fan to cool it off. If your reving high it might be a problem with you Jet Kit.....

This could all be a cable problem. When it gets hot the gunk in the cable gets sticky and gives the effect of a sticking throttle. Been there, done that! Buy the adapter for the cable for around $4, can of carb cleaner, can of cable lude or everybody's favorite Wonder Drug 40, hose that bad boy out real good, flush with your preferred lubricant until it's coming out of the other end, and walla!
And if that doesn't fix the problem then atlest you've ruled that out, and have a worry free throttle cable as a result.
Let us know what you find. Sometimes it's the simplest things that trouble us the most.

You can get it at any bike shop or auto parts store. Just a clamp with rubber guts and a hole for the extension tube from the cleaner/lube. Forces the liquid down through and out of the end of the cable.
