Outlander Lighting
I have a hella hid as200. It works incredibly and does not have the power drain of regular bulbs.

Has anyone added aftermarket lights to their outlanders? I am considering buying some extra lights, and am curious what others have done. And if you like the results?</end quote></div>

You can find the light for around $500 elsewhere, hella now offers it in their marine section under a different number. What is nice is that the ballast is enclosed and I've power washed mine more times than I can remeber and it has never failed me. I got mine off ebay for about $350. Don't buy the magnet mount, just get the regular one. I cut a piece of aluminum in a pattern to fit a section of the front rack of the utility and mounted it to it. To do so I put some foam between the aluminum and the rack. Some holes in the aluminum and a couple of big Zip ties later and you are done. I plugged mine into my 12v plug in but had to bump up the fuse to a 10 amp for the initial spike of the ballast. It rapidly backs down to around 2.7 amps if I remember right.
You get what you pay for, and man does that ever put out light. I am a light geek and I also have a 75 watt HID flashlight that puts out around 8500 lumens. Thats the output of an aircraft landing light for the non geeks out there. I use the flashlight when I do high speed runs on the road at night, it can shine out usefully over 3/8 of a mile. Welding goggles are required to gaze into it as it produces a plasma ball that would blind you, not a toy for children.
