I thought you said you were stock to in the race? But your sig suggest other wise. The 450 motor is not a down size 525 unless that is how KTM builds them. It is great for Atv buys right now with all the diff quads to pic from. I hope all those high tech parts on the DS hold up like the short axle an those long hubs will be god to see. What is the chance the Pro racers change it.

The D450 ain't bad looking but I think the new Kawi hits it better in the looks department. I'll wait for the shootout....I hear the Kawi is slow. Going to sit tight and see which has the best bang for the buck. The thing is... all these are high revving/strung machine. Nothing like a big bore lug around and have power on tap. I hope Can-Am comes out with something to give a swift kick in the b@lls to the Raptor 700.

Hey Scrambler, my motor is stock, there are no motor parts in my sig, just because i have EFI, an intake, cdi box, and an exhaust doesnt make me highly modified, majority of my parts are accessories

If I wasn't looking to get the DS 450, I would look at the KTM 525, but then the price comes into play....I think you may end up seeing quite a few of the Polaris 525s's at the dunes in the comming months. Decent weight, 47.5 inches wide, should do well.

i cant wait till 7-8 years from now when im all done with school. I hope that the ds450 will still be the best 450 out there (other than the 9000$$ ktm, which i dont really see as being better, since the ds450 could be modded with 1500 parts and smoke it)

These quads are crazily attractive nowadays

its funny that in 1999, the only sports were scrambler, 400ex, warrior, and banshee- that is a small selection.... now we have/had in past few years: 450r, yfz, ds450, kfx450, z400, ltr450, kfx400, dvx400, rap350, rap700r, outlaw450mxr, outlaw525S, outlaw 525IRS, scrambler, vforcekfx700, ds650, renegade 800, renegade 500, and probably more that i missed

I hope that in 2010 or 2011, that suzuki comes out with a ltr500 (old lt500r with new graphics, susp, 47" wide, 370lbs, aluminum chassis, EFI) just to attack the 700rap and outlaw525StraightAxle, maybe honda will create a cbr/trx600, but they probably wont cuz they like sticking to carbs, air cooling, sohc, and steel

NickDS650; Looks like your not playing fair & thanks for showing that out of the box stock the Polaris 525 kicks butt. Give the credit to the 525 for being fastest quad in the race in completely stock form.
