Happy New Year To All,
I installed a Graydon Pipe, DynoJet Needle Kit, UNI Filter, and the Ron Woods Limiter this past week just prior to a trip to the Glamis sand dunes in CA. There was a noticeable difference from stock (much more responsive) even though I was beat in a race by a stock DS while at the dunes. I played with the jetting first starting with the 200 main that came with the DynoJet Kit. It did not blurb but it felt rich (even though the plugs did not look rich at all). I worked down to a 185 main, she ran great but I'm still wondering if I want to go with the Ron Woods Stage I carb. My buddy also brought his 2000-DS out; he has the Ron Woods Stage I kit. We stayed fairly close when racing but he would pull away about a bike length at the top of the hill. We are both running the stock gearing and the same paddles. Any suggestions from any one?

sandsurfer,
How s it goin. I have a question for you. i just got the graydon pipe and it doesnt seem to fit right. I know you are not supposed to use the rubber gromits that come with the stock pipe but this thing just doesnt fit right with out them. did you have any trouble with it? When i do use the gromits the muffler fits great but where the header pipe springs are the pipe doesnt seat in the mid pipe all the way. any info would be appreciated.

BKUTINA,
Yes my pipe did not have the best fit either, I used the rubber grommets and fabed my own spacers. I also used a 2.25" collar clamp instead of the three springs on the mid portion of the pipe. My local shop swears by the pipe, I did let them know about the fit and they called Graydon but no response. I will let you know how the jetting continues to go. Feel free to E-Mail if you have any questions.

sandsurfer,
thanks for the reply. there was no way that the pipe was gunna fit so i called up graydon and they told me to send it back and they will send another one. they mentioned that i recieved one of the first ones made and that they had no complaints about the fit from anyone else. well i guess there is a first time for everything. pipe goes back tomorrow.

sandsurfer, do you both weigh the same? Did you guys switch quads and get the same results on the hill climb? Your jetting could be off slightly.

Did you guys see the new Dirtwheels magazine? It has a report on the Graydon proline for the line up(pipe, bumpers, grab bars, nerfs)on the DS and Raptor. That DS looked sweet.I just ordered the Gradon exsaust today. There only complaint was it was loud! But it adds plenty of power, and looks killer.....

They dont send you any jets. You do not have to re-jet unless you run a K&N filter. You can keep stock jetting with the stock filter.
