suspension setup for DS650 on Flat Track?

I wanna do a bit of flat track racing at a local dirt oval, but I am not sure if I'm gonna get into it enough to spend the coin on suspension specifically for it.
Most of the guys I see are strapping down their stock suspension with ratchet straps and the like, but most of it looks a bit precarious in that if a hook comes off or a strap brakes a good bit of hell could break loose as a result.
Any experienced strapping input out there for me? Or other alternatives?
If I really dig it, maybe I'll drop the dough for a real setup including sway bar, but for the first couple times I'd like to wing it to feel it all out.

I know this thread is old, but I figured since nobody responded I will! I am a HUGE fan of putting other quads shocks on the ds to lower it. You can get them cheap enough which makes it really nice (under 100 for front/rear for good condition) and it takes 30 minutes to change out front/rear. I have run 400ex shocks,ltz400 shocks as well as some ohlins from a cannondale.
The ohlins were the nicest, followed by the stock 400ex shocks (but the ohlins are 3-4 times the price).
If you are still looking to lower the ds I would be willing to part with my 400ex shocks (i bought them and just dont have much time to ride so doing suspension swaps cuts out of ride-time). Shoot me a pm if you want em!
How big is your local dirt oval? I would love to try it sometime, I bet you could get some pretty high average speeds going.

i made the from shocks mount higher, just take 4 pieces about 2 inches long of metal drill hole in each end then one is for the from of the shock the other is for the back, it eseciantlly is a higher top shock mount, then i adjusted my shocks as low as they will go a long with the back, and it sits LOW, it sits so low on blacktop it wont wheely.
