Default Opinion on DS 650 Baja

I'm looking into getting a new quad, and I've found a 2002 DS 650 Baja for sale, it's in really good shape and its at a pretty good price, what's everybody's opinions on this quad??

Bad *** Bikes man. If you're a bigger rider this is the bike for you. And if you're smaller you will haul *** on this quad. There is nothing like the DS650 in my humble opinion.

Great reliable/tough quads, I have had mine for 4 years now, only thing I have had to replace is a battery. I did have to replace a light and seat latch, but that was do to a roll over. And I am really surprised that is all I had to replace. Sometimes the size can get a little difficult on narrow trails but usually never a great big deal. And If your mainly dune riding I don't thing there is a better ride out there. Guess it kind of depends on what your going to be riding it in. I mainly ride trails and riverbeds and then try and take it to the dunes once a year. I would say only thing it would not truely shine in is for MX racing. It will deffinatly hold its own, but there are better quads for that. But as far as going fast in the dunes or trails it is a great quad. And if you lilke to drag race there are plenty of mods for the ds to go real fast in a straight line.

I agree with rldbobcat, not for mx racing but high speed desert, and long endurance races you can't beat it. It's like a big couch on wheels. Love this thing. Rocker, you can't go wrong with this bike.

One thing you may want to check is where your closest dealer is. If you buy stuff online I wouldnt worry about it. But if you like buying from a dealer you may want to make sure its not a 2 hr drive to the closest one. I have only bought a few items from the dealer, everything else I have bought online for mine. The only thing I usually buy from the dealer is oil filters.
