What video Camera to buy???
#1
I know this has nothing to do with Can Am, but I dont care!!!
Im taking a trip down to LS Oklahoma in a couple of weeks, and I would like to pick up a video camera before I go. Im not sure what to look for, or what specs it should have. I want something that EASY to use, will zoom quite far, and possible take some slow motion quality footage. Not sure if they all have the capability, but would be nice to be able to take stills off it.
I appreciate any advice you guys have, I havent bought anything electronic, other than a computer, in years.
I would like to take lots of vids of this trip. We have 4 conversion quads total heading down, and would make for a nice video.

How much are you willing to spend? If you want good quality video definitely go with a Mini HD digital video camera. I know Panasonic makes really good stuff, sony has some good equipment, and there's many others. Check out Amazon.com for all of this stuff and you should find something for a good price. The reason I say Panasonic first is because I'm in the Digital Media program at my University and they use a lot of Panasonic camera's and have good results. Of course their camera's are 3-5k each. Lot's of $$$$$$$$$$$$.
We all can't wait to see the vid's man.

I suggest checking out what are called Hybrid cameras, these record directly to flash cards and shoot high definition and 5+MP stills. We have a Sanyo HD2 http://reviews.cnet.com/digita...439.html?tag=pdtl-list and I'm really happy with it. A little grainy in indoor lighting and no slow-mo mode but you could do that with software. Check out the Canon TX, it has that capability though. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Canon-TX1-Brings-HD-Video-Capture-to-a-Pocket-Digital-Camera.htm

</a>
The beauty of these is that you can carry them in a loose pocket like cargo pants or large shirt pocket and leave it in standby mode ready to shoot in an instant. Flash card storage numbers are set to go big and I've picked up Fast 4GB SDHC cards for just over $20.

imo the ones that record on to mini DV suck
they have new ones out with hard drives that record straight to the hard drives, and makes it easy to upload to your computer, no more having to run the tape to transfer it digitally to upload onto your harddrive
some of them even have bigger mp cameras with 10x optical zoom too. under 600 bucks i have seen

I'll have to agree with you on that one man the hard drive type would be very nice to have, and make things simple.
