Oh NO!!! ERBE set a trap!!!
This 855 ran PlanetSand in 2006, ran a 3.96. It came home and got torn down for inspection since this was the first opportunity to run an 855 (new bore and stroke combo).
Eric put his motor back together with fresh rings and has been running it since.
It ran a few track days for test and tune then showed up to PlanetSand 2007. It ran a 3.91 in test and tune, ran the all motor class and the motormounts gave way causing the bike to get parked.
After the frame got fixed it has seen a few track days just like the one in the video. Unless something happens, Eric said he plans to take the bike as is to Planet Sand in 2008 without a rebuild.
If I had to make a judgement call, i would rebuild a motor like this after 100 hrs to make sure I was getting max performance out of it. He is only at about 12.5:1 compression and the 855 doesn't turn as much rpm as the 15:1 800's do.
