I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of all New Years. May God watch over, protect, and bless everyone of you.
Please keep those who are defending Democracy, Liberty, and Justice across the globe in your thoughts and prayers. It's can be tough on them and their families during this time of the year, but with them knowing that we back here at home appreciate all that they do, it keeps them pushing on.
Everyone stay safe.

Same to you Vic,
It was 20 years ago this year that I spent my first Christmas away from my family as a soldier in Germany. I was lucky that I was safe and out of harms way. Even so it was kinda hard. The kids have sent cards and pictures through the local GOP. I hope not a single service member spends Christmas thinking they are not supported and prayed for everyday.
I too wish all of you a Merry Christmas, and that God Blesses you and your families in the New Year.

i thought shelby mississippi was hotter than kuwait, not that i liked either one, but i would take the 125 plus of kuwait, over the 100 plus of mississippi. other than that kuwait didn't have much to offer, just a place of those that have and the rest that don't, you would think they would clean up from the first war. and you contractors don't get any thanks, at least you come home with a nice bank roll

PI, you guys are definitely appreciated, especially by the Iraqi's. What's being built or rebuilt is light years ahead of what those CroMags can come up with on their own.
I've had an offer to come over there and knock out some Heavy Mobile Equipment jobs that were in the six digits. Made it fairly unscathed for twenty years and they wouldn't let me bring my DS's so fug 'em. It's dune season here anyway and I don't have to worry about zhiat blowing up around me.
Stay safe and tell your compatriots that some of us Marines have their backs.

Sandman,
Yeah we make out decent; however, the friends you lose isnt worth the money you make. We take over where the military cant be. And unfortunately that comes at a price, both good for the "bankroll" but bad for what we go through and the good people that we lose. Trust me when i say i would rather be home with the family making decent money with benies then being here! Unfortunately, no one cares to hire my inexperienced butt so it seems i am stuck here for a bit till i can come home. Who would have thought that paying thousands and thousands to get you a 4 year IT degree would mean less then the paper i wipe me **** with?
Ace,
I appreciate it brother, we are actually just about an hour north of Al Asad air base where it is nearly 95% marines. We deal with them nearly on a daily basis. Seen a bunch of them pay the ultimate right on our road here. And as far as heavy equipment goes, i had a buddy that was trying to fill a position as a project manager. You wouldnt of had to travel the roads and would live decently. Only bad thing is family life...what family life? Vacation maybe once a year. I did that my first tour and let me tell you, not again. I would definetely agree on the DS brother. I would LOVE to have mine out here...although hitting a mine or IED on a DS would really be a crappy way to go...
