has anyone tried different adjustments on their toe out to see if it cuts down on the frontend wandering or do you think maybe a taller tire would help? ive got a set of 22x7x10 front RAZRS on order,i was just wandering if the tire size might have some effect on this.i think the stock setting is 1 inch of toe out,im not sure.

Hey Chop, I can't remember which magazine I read it in, but the test riders were complainig about the front end wandering too. Their solution was to adjust the toe in a bit more and it did seem to help. I was gonna try it this weekend if I have time to tinker around with it. Hey thanks for the info on the foamy oil. Lastnight I was able to get out and go for a ride for about 20 mins. (It got really cold) and when I got back I checked the dipstick and there was the foamy stuff again. But I sat and watched it and it slowly disappeared. Although I must admit, it did take bout 7mins trying to get the DS started. I wonder why it is so hard to get started in the cold? My stroker starts right up if you put the choke on first. I've tried both ways to start the DS(with choke and without) and the same results. Won't fire up till it's good and ready. This weekend I think I will swap tires with my stroker too. Currently I have the realtors on the stroker, but I want to see how the DS will do with them on and riding in the snow and mud. Thanks again Chop....newdsowner

checked mine last night and it was straight on toe.so if i adjust the toe out 1/4 on each side then the front should be 1/2 inch wider than the rear of the back.

chop,

You want your tires to toe-in, not out. They should toe in 1/2" because when the suspension compresses in naturally causes toe-out. Toe-out is what makes it wander.

You can adjust TOE-IN by jacking up front wheels, then loosen tie rods. You will get more toe-in when you adjust tie rods{both} to a longer than stock measurement, stock is 12 1/4 inches from end to end maybe try increasing to 12 1/2.Be careful to keep as much rod in each end as possible.

To measure your toe-in. leave the bike with the wieght on the wheels. After all, you dont allign a car on jacks. Take a measurement from the inside of your rims , from rim to rim. First measure the forward inner bead ,rim to rim . Then measure the aft inner bead, rim to rim. If the forward measurement is less you obviously have toe-in, which is what you want. About 1/2 inch. Then adjust tie-rods , using equal turns for each side.If needed.
