Default Intake questions for a DS650

I have a DS650 and I was wondering wouldn't you want the intake rough and not smooth? I bought a intake a while back off of ebay and after i got it I noticed that it was ported and polished. So it is very smooth on the inside and I thought you wanted the exhaust smooth and the intake rough so that it mixes the fuel and air before entering the chamber. Just wondering if there is something I dont' know about that it should be polished?

from what i've read on here it should be a little rough, i think people said it helps with fuel atomization or something along those lines??

They say rough but to be honest as short as a run in the intake that the fuel gets i don't think it matters. What i feel matters most is good intake shaping from the port job.
