Factory repairs

Just talked to the local shop(in cocoa that's where bombardier 's plant in melbourne sends there stuff to)i was told anyway's,and several of the factory repairs axle bearings and clip that causes axle play, brake line routing and oil sensor the time runs out at the end of the month. The axle c-clip actually expired on the 14th but said bombardier should fix prob. if any anyway's.If you haven't had these issues checked yet you need to.These are for the 2000 models.I don't know about the 2001's.Also the guy that helped me at the shop said he used to work for bombardier and was sent up to canada every other week or so to test out the DS.He said they started building and testing the DS over 5 years ago.

crash, that is interesting information. I can't believe that they have been testing the DS for around 5 years and still have these problems. I think it's great that everyone posts info on here about their situations and whom they've talked to. It sure helps us consumers to fight back against big manufacturers to stand behind their products. I tell you, I love my DS, but I really don't know if I should keep it. It seems that most people on here that have serious engine problems have over 50hrs on their machines. I barely have over 11hrs on mine and I'm scared to get out and rack up them hrs. I'm hoping that I don't have those problems, but I might be wise for me to sell while value is still high and just let the money gain interest in the bank till Bombardier get's the bugs worked out. So far I'm pleased with it except for the low end, but that can be fixed. Well adios amigos....

my dealer has a 00 DS that he drag races, flat tracks and TT's and has never had trouble with his.theres always going to be a few bad bikes no matter who makes them.look at the Raptor,Yamaha has been making atv's for ever and they still put out a few bad machines ever now and then.just because a few people have had bad expierences with them it doesnt make them junk.if that were the case the Raptor would be extinct for the second time.

It's too bad that a bunch of you guys have had problems with your quads, I for one have not had any problems with defective parts, sensors, chain rollers or any thing else. I've had my DS for just over a year and have done the hardest riding and jumping of my life and this is by far the best quad I've ever owned. Nothing else I've ever owned could have take the beating I regularly dole out to this machine. I think Bom's engineers have done an excellent job overall( doesn't mean there's not room for improvement) I've had 2 yahmahs, a polaris and a honda and have never really had a bike I'didnt like. Well, maybe the warrior, liked everything about it except that it always slipped out of 2nd gear.
My only complaint with the DS, was how gutless it was with the stock pipe and jetting, and that it bogged out on the whoops - easy to remedy. My bike was one of the first out and has a manufactured date of 11/99, hopefully bombardier will continue to make improvements on the DS and step their customer service up a knotch.

Well Jimmie.I bought my bike used so i can't really compare the diff. w. tires. The rears tires look bigger but they actually fill up the rear fenders a bit so i think it's looks better. My brother has ridden mine a couple of times(his is the DS on the blown motor and dead engine thread)and says it hooks up better than his w/20'' tires.Of course since his DS only ran for FIFTEEN MINUTES (get the picture bombardier)before it needed a $3000 motor,i didn't get a chance to ride his.23'' fronts supposed to make it more stable however mines a little shaky and high speeds but my toe is being adjusted now.
