Should i do it?

ATV Sport did a 450 shoot-out.
The KTM was top dog in a lot of areas but, it has an MSRP of about $8800. The DS450 was #2 and MSRP of about $7600 (if I remember correctly).
That's a lot of coin for a little difference.
The front end of the DS450 sounds amazing. The seem to have done their homework.
The DS has Fuel Injection, the KTM has Reverse.
It would be a tough call between the two of those bikes.
The YFZ, Kawi, Polaris and Zuki all did well too.
The Honda 450 did ok but, it almost sounded more like an upgraded 400EX than a 450 racer like the others in the write-up. I'm sure it is a good bike. Just didn't do as well when compared to the others in a few areas. . . except price!
As to your question. . . About a year ago I sold my DS and bought a Raptor 700. It has given me new passion to riding. I've only done bolt-on's to this new bike where the old DS was a Pami 760. I miss the power but, I love the fuel injection and the nimbleness of this new Raptor. Reverse is nice and the lighter quad is great. I love the looks of the 2007 SE2 - blue frame - I have too. It looks bling'd out from the factory!
If you have the money - do it. If you are anything like me you'll find yourself doing more riding (and I rode a lot before) and enjoying the change. For me the time had come for a change. Based on how much fun I'm having with this new bike, I may have to upgrade more often.

Same here..
The only down fall on the new DS450 is that it does not have a choke, I use mine alot in the winter months on my DS650. But they did say it starts very well

Lol it doesnt need a choke, when its super cold out mine doesnt have a problem firing up starts frist click, warms it self up and teh works, all tho i think the yellow ds450's look ugly just with the yellow a black is a must have, thats what won me over+i needed the nerf bars/handle bars riser so i just desided to roll with it+no on esle has the ds450x out here so when i go out and ride everyone garthers around my bike and drool/asking if they can take it for a spin =] alltho it doesnt have reverse that sucks but o well

Ds650powe:
You better think twice before spending money on a second quad? Gas will be $4.00 a gallon by July and the economy is only going to get tighter. I would be very careful to anybody considering buying any additional toys right now.
Like the commercial on TV (Feed the Pig) It's a stupid commercial where a guy is being talked into buying a big screen TV and than he says I'll take it! All of a suddon his hand is slapped by a guy dressed up like a pig, than the guy says you are right I dont really need it. The moral of that story is not to **** away your money when sometime down the road you may really need it.
