water in cvt in outlander help
if you do a thread search you should find lots of info on this.
Basically there are 2 things to look at. Is the water getting into the CVT case through the breather or exaust, or is it coming in through a crack in one of the seals.
if it is coming in the breather or exaust the answer is easy, he needs snorkles. which again if you do a thread search is easy to find on here on how to snorkle the outlander.
if it is coming in through the seals there are a few things he can do to fix that as well, which you will also find. But most importantly. he should take it to the dealer. if it is an 06, it should stil be under warranty. so if the seals are leaking the dealer should fix it.

I have an 06 Outty that had the same problem. Take it to the dealer and tell them you need the replacement cover kit installed. You probably will still have to pay the $50 deductible, but if you get something else replaced under warranty, they should all be covered under the same $50. I haven't had a problem slipping when wet since they fixed that problem.
