It sounds to me like your stock CDI and wiring harness are the older style, which baffles me, because you say your bike is an 06. Did you buy your bike brand new?

My big gun looks just like the pic up there ^ for the 04, but mine is not like that at all. same size and shape but there are 5 wires that come off of it and go to a round harness connector, the wires are about a foot long or so. I'll post a pic of the original when I get a chance.</end quote></div>

Very weird. I believe that the first bikes that had the new style CDI boxes (with the built in prongs and a higher rev limit) were the 02 Bajas. All 03's and up, both regular and Baja, have the new CDI box style. I personally have an 03 Viper and an 04 Baja X, and both have the new style box. Why your 06 has a CDI box from a 2000, 2001, or 2002 regular is a mystery to me. I guess the only thing you can do is buy a Big Gun in the older style while they are still making them.

Dude, that is funny. I am laughing as I type this.

Reminds me of the first time I used a torque wrench, and did not take note of the difference between foot pounds and inch pounds.
