Default Black 69HP 800R OUTLANDER for 2009

Word on the street is there is a black Outlander thats making 69hp do out for 09' thats 4hp more than the Artic cat 1000 and 7hp more than the current 800s.

The new Name is supose to be 800R, the new power is derivative of new intakes, cams, and new ECM program.

The Side by side is supose to be released as a 2010, so that would mean like not to see any side by sides mid year 09' I would guess.

You were right ATVboy, it is pretty slow in here. I guess they are not going to pull the thread over here. Heck I think Can-am is even a paying sponsor on this site. This thread on there pre embargo dated info, has now survived for 2 days whole days now., without getting deleted WOW????

I am ready to see them, 7 more days and the embargoed 09' info gets officially released. I am told the front clip got some changes in the way it looks, I rather like the way it looks now so I hope its not real drastic.

I like the idea of a black X team outlander that is exactly what the line needs. but 4 more HP?? kinda cheezy if you ask me. why not just build an Outlander 1000 and be done with it. if people want more power, give them more power don;t screw around with raising the output of an already solid platform.

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

I believe it is supposedd to be 7 more hp. If that is not a big deal, try getting that much on aftermarket stuff and see what it takes......

well that's a little better. 7hp is decent. considering the difference between the 650 (54HP) and th 800(62 HP) is 8hp. once you get to that level though, you have to consider is the chassis strong enough to handle the power? I still think it would be better to just come out with a 1 litre outlander. with a beefed up frame, new differential. beefey shocks and suspension etc. the more power you have, the stronger the components need to be. Still I bet the outlander will look absolutly sick in the x-team black. I was surprised they didn;t release one when they released the rest of the x-team bikes.

so the arctic cat only has 65hp? What about their claims of 15-20% more than the previous most powerfull quad (outlander/renegade)?

I'm interested in this new outlander...I wonder if that motor will find its way into the renegades eventually...

There has been no mention of the black Outy beeing a X model, it is my understanding that its just going to be available in black. The new revised 800's are supose to carry the desicnation of 800R.

Its 69hp rateing was stated in the begining post as being 4 hp more than the Artic cat(current top dog) , and 7 more than the current outlander. As cardiac was eluding to, thats about 2 more hp than you can get with any bolt on;s available, if piping it gets the same typical 10% gain as seen on many 4 strokes including the current 800 rotax motors, then piping this new 800R should get it up to about 74-75 crank hp. Now that is going to be pretty dang awesome IMO.
