Default Outlander snorkel

hello
I've got outlander500 -07 - have drive it just 10hours - and burned one belt&cluch;(
Is it so, that snorkel in it is 'had to be' eguipment?
(thats not fun that you have to wach out every beck and mud -- damn!)
-or was there some component-bug? (they didn't replace in guarantee - damn it wasn't cheap..!?!)
Is it so that I just have to build snorkelsystem to my brand-new atv if I want to drive it like atv? (doesn't feel right?)

The snorkle is not a bad idea, but it depends on how and where you ride. I've had my stock Outy in water up to the racks with no water problems in the CVT.

Meaning that the water crossings are deep enough to be above the plastic but below the racks. 25" to 30" or so.

Again.
We just were driving, and there was water almost to the seat - it wen't well until belt starts al slip - get water... - towed it because I don't want to burn it again..
-Empty it and run for while, and it gos again...
Is the belt air-intake the 'first' which drown? - or should I empty more things now? oils? motor-air intake?

-damn I have to get some snorkelsystem in it before I broke it..

Another issue some Outlanders have is a leak in the CVT cover. I believe there is a rubber gasket that tends to leak allowing water in the CVT. Also the CVT cover can warp from heat, not sure if it is an issue with the 500...I believe it was the bigger 650 & 800 that had that issue...

Just a few things to check out anyways.

Feedback:
got a ship from eastcoast.... - install and now cana is "U96"..

No doubt that have to recommend this snorkel-set!
It's smart system and pretty easy to install.
One good "submarine-safari" is done and system works well!

Now it's winter coming here and won't need to 'dive' for this year anymore.
But now got those tracks and waiting more snow like a little boy...:-P
