Don't buy a 500 Outlander
#1
The 500's have a poor front supension, BRP should have put all the v-twin's, in the same frame & supension.
BRP said thats the way it is, if you don't like it, get a different Quad.

i dont think they would of said "BRP said thats the way it is, if you don't like it, get a different Quad" word for word lol, but yeah its just like the DS450 and DS450X its like 600 or less more and you get so much more, then if u look in the factory add on's for the reg DS450 its over like 1300 for all the X package stuff lol

If you are going to knock something you need to elaberate a little more than this as I have never hear of any such poblems with a Outlander before!!!

Well, I've always thought that Polaris could have done better than struts on the Blazers, but I wouldn't say don't buy one.
There's always aftermarket suspension for the Outlander.

There is no aftermarket for the front of a 500 Outlander, one company makes a spring kit for $355. All I am saying is get the 650 for $600. more its a much better deal.
I bough the 500 for my wife thinking the only thing different was the motor size. Big mistake

Elka Supension, says there spring kit will help it a bunch, it will stop the front, from diving in a corner, and when going through several mogels the struts will recover faster, and give the 500 a better ride. We are going to try it.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you really gotta go over the specs on what you want to buy.
I for one would probably buy a 400 or 500 max IF it the same suspension as the bigger ones.
I can handle less power much more than I can handle the lack of ground clearance.
For what it's worth, the salesman at the shop I looked at them in thought they were all the same.
He bragged he had been selling quads for 20 years.....
That pretty much finish my dealings there.

They are not the same supension 400 & 500 uses a strut, 650 and up and the renagades use a special a arm and a adjustable Gas shock. We had a couple 330 Outlanders 2wd we loved them and they handled better than the 500. I think it had somthing to do with the weight, and power.
The 500 will fly, but you have to be careful to keep it under control.
We hope the spring kit from Elak helps, my wife don't want any more power.
