help with 2004 outlander

Default help with 2004 outlander

I have 2004 outlander and the front brakes seem to be sticking lately, when applying to hand brake. It continues to grind while I'm driving, until it fixes itself. Also when slowing down the front brake automatically applies itself, without squeezing the brake at all. How can I fix this from continuing? I don't want to damage the disc's ....

Default help with 2004 outlander

Sounds to me you have a caliper sticking. Might need to pull off the calipers, clean them, and push the caliper back in with a vise.

I had a truck where a boot on the caliper was ripped and caused the piston to rust and stick out. Had to replace the caliper on that one.
