after riding fine all day it the pit when i start it back up to leave it would idle fine but when i gave it throttle it would poop and die. it will idle fine. i tried draining the bowl three times but that didnt help at all. if the choke was pulled it would just die as well. what should i do? im guna start with new plugs but thats all i know. please help thanks

 

Have you tried taking the bowl off and clean the pilot jet?

 

my money is on a loose ground wire. i know most quads run without a battery once there started but not the ds. i had the exact same thing happen to me once, drove me up a wall had to idle all the way home and it was just a bad connection on the battery

 

if it was just a dead batttery would it cause it to act like that? so hopefully if i just get a new batt that will solve the problem? thanks

 

Did you try runnig it with the gas cap off

 

at the time i had it runnig i didnt take it off but i did after to see if it was vapor locked or something but it didnt change. i also checked my tank vent hose and that was fine

 

PULL THE CARB AND CLEAN THE JETS

 

do you have a multi meter? check the ground to see if its got a good connection. when my ground wire was loose it would idle all day long smooth as ever but as soon as i hit the gas it would just die the same way as you describe. my battery wasnt dead jsut a bad connection

 

I'm with CYNICK and AZSAND. Probably a blocked pilot jet. Very common.

 

so the problem was def the battery soon as i put the new one in it started right up and ran fine! thanks for the help
